Hey, friend. Welcome to Midlife Unscripted.
My name is Claire Hauxwell, and I’m a 46-year-old self-proclaimed badass who’s slightly obsessed with redefining my midlife narrative.
I’m not sure what the hell I’m going to do with this space, but I know I want to use it as a platform for women who are tired of midlife getting the best of them. My goal is to empower myself and others to take back our stories and design a life that fills us with fucking joy.
I believe settling for a midlife of fine is bull shit.
I believe in being exactly who I am — a kind, sort of dorky, never on trend, anxious woman who loves so hard or cares so much it sometimes spills out of her eyes.
I believe midlife journeys are a time for honesty. I have no idea what I’m doing on the daily, but sugarcoating shit certainly won’t help my cause.
I believe sharing my experiences, even when they aren’t pretty or exciting, will show others that real life can still be incredible even without all the filters.
I believe creating community builds confidence, intention, and a sense of belonging… all things I want in my life.
Since we’re just getting to know each other, here are some fun facts about me…
I’ve been married to my husband, Dave, for 21 years.
I’m a SAHM of two feisty teenage daughters.
My dog, Paco, is my best friend.
I love to write about random things.
I’m an author. I wrote a book called Badass Abroad; you should read it.
In 2022 I became a certified life coach. My practice focuses on self-evolution.
I’ve been an expat for 15 years and have lived in 5 countries. Currently, I call Switzerland home.
My friends are what keep me sane.
My laugh is very big and loud, but I’m short and petite.
I’m an aspiring wine snob.
CrossFit is my go-to workout and I love downhill skiing.
My cooking skills are mediocre, but I’m trying to improve… dinner out is my best dish.
I hate clutter and will gladly come to your home to throw your shit out.
I speak fluent sarcasm.
I believe swearing makes me a better communicator.
My last meal in jail would be a fully loaded bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a big ass Diet Coke with lots of ice.
